Finney Automotive Inc. October 3, 2008
Recently, Finney Automotive Inc. made
the important decision to convert to waterborne basecoat for the repair of vehicles. We are proud to announce that we now
not only use the latest technology in automotive refinish coatings, but also are doing our part to promote a cleaner, greener
environment.
When traditional solventborne
automotive coatings are applied, the solvents, which help form a continuous film, evaporate into the atmosphere. The resulting
volatile organic compounds (VOCs) react in the presence of heat and sunlight to form ground-level-ozone, one of the main ingredients
in smog.
By choosing BASF’s Glasurit®90-Line
basecoat, we are reducing our solvent emissions by about 90 percent compared to traditional basecoat without sacrificing the
quality of the finish. In fact, this is the same basecoat that is currently used as original production paint for both ''Rolls-Royce''
and ''Maybach''. With its 14-year presence on the market, it is also a recommended paint line for a multitude
of Original Equipment Manufacturers, not only here, but also around the world.
This transition to waterborne basecoat is one of numerous innovative initiatives Finney
Automotive Inc. has taken since its beginning in 1990. From state of the art equipment to using the ''U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency’s (EPA) Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge'' award winning low VOC ultraviolet (UV) primer
from BASF, we are continuously improving the way we do business.
Finney Automotive Inc. is committed to the health of its employees, of its customers, and of its community.
Sincerely,
RICK FINNEY
